UTAH 1957/8 STUDY:  CHRONOLOGY OF NATUROPATHIC STUDENTS’ PARTICIPATING IN PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS FROM 1910-1957.

Introduction

The following page depicts a population-chronology analysis of the doctors practicing and/or researched as part of the Utah study.

The listing of students who were noted in the earlier part of this review of the Utah study are those reviewed for this chronological analysis of the sects.

Years of practice are noted on left side.  The 1910-1911 academic year was the earliest year in which a practitioner attended a medical school, be it either in chiropractic, drugless, neuropathic, or natripathic medicine.

Symbols in use

*  Years of attendance, with one dot representing one  student attending a medical school for that year.

x  Graduation year for one student.

?  A year in which there may have been an attending student, which the notes taken by the Utah researchers are inconclusive of.

S  A year in which a doctor’s medical license was  suspended.

Preliminary Conclusions drawn from the attached table:

Increased attendance just before the dawn of World War II is noted.   Peaks following the War may be related to the Veteran’s Bill which served to financially support and place these students in an alternative medical college.

In 1955/6, see drastic decrease due to:

         1) Old Veterans school

         2) penicillin era

         3) technology (X-rays/MASH)

  ##4) license suspensions
