The following are the contents of John Kennedy Bristow’s recipe book at the Oregon Historical Society, Portland, Oregon. The manuscript was transcribed back in 1993, and this information, along with individual recipes, are reviewed on other pages. The following information consists of line 1 of the first page for a recipe (usually it has a name, but sometimes the beginning of a sentence), followed by the presumed or known and documented author of this recipe, followed by the page number. The names in parentheses are assumed names. Letters out of parentheses are those which are found in Bristow pocket book. Based on an analysis of the handwriting and penmanship or writing style, most of these recipes are produced by John Kennedy Bristow. There is a stand alone unique writing style noted for at least one of Catnip’s recipes.
