Methodologies for 19 New Baseline GROUPS HEALTH Measures

The following methodologies may be used to review activities in a way related to past HEDIS-like evaluations.   These methods are in no way approved of or developed by NCQA, and are methods developed in order to add to the information HEDIS and HEDIS-based PIP/QIA projects offer us about population health.  These methodologies are of course not finalized and are in much need of review, redefinition and testing.  But at least this is a start to developing an method to meet the goals of this manner of researching population health.   These methods were developed around 2003/4, with some of the questions already tested by their addition to PIPs and QIAs.  The majority of these reviews were performed for the diabetes and asthma studies, followed by the pregnancy and smoking cessation studies.
